A mold release is applied to the skin and a pose is selected. |

Alginate is spread on all the areas of the body that we wish to mold. |

After a fiber layer is added to the alginate, a plaster shell is constructed to support the mold. |

Once the plaster is set, the mold is removed and the process of filling the mold with the casting material can begin. Total elapsed time to take a mold of this size is usually about 20-25 minutes. |

This is the finished sculpture in cold-cast copper. The "wrap" is a piece of cloth coated with a metal/resin mixture and then artificially "aged" with an acid patina. |
